Adam Gurney, Attorney at Law
Adam Gurney is a Chicago attorney who focuses primarily on real estate and business law. In real estate, Mr. Gurney has experience representing buyers and sellers, lessors and lessees, in all phases of real estate transactions. He also handles disputes arising under landlord-tenant law, condominium law, foreclosures, and disputes involving the Illinois Mechanics Lien Act. In business, Mr. Gurney provides counsel to start-up businesses in formation and transactions such as the formation of LLCs, LLPs, and S-Corporations, and the structuring of partnership agreements, employment agreements, and business contracts of all sorts. Joe Busnengo, Attorney at Law
Joe Busnengo is a Chicago attorney practicing in the areas of probate, family law, and estate planning. While a student at Northwestern University School of Law, he gained experience with family law as an extern at Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and with probate and estate planning as a clerk at Prather Ebner LLP. Since graduating and being admitted to the bar in 2013, he has represented clients in adoption, divorce, and estate planning matters through Chicago Volunteer Legal Services and Wills for Heroes. He is currently a member of the Chicago and Illinois State Bar Associations and serves as co-chair of the CBA YLS Public Outreach—Wills for Heroes subcommittee..
Danny Kruger, Attorney at Law
Daniel handles residential and commercial real estate transactions as well as a number of types of litigation under landlord-tenant law, condo law, mechanic’s liens and more. Prior to joining the firm, Daniel gained several years of experience in the foreclosure defense industry and he has brought that experience to our firm. Daniel enjoys representing homeowners across Chicagoland, guiding them through the foreclosure process and helping them to remediate issues or decide if a short sale is the best choice for them. A lifelong native of Chicago, Daniel majored in Political Science at the University of Illinois and earned his law degree at Chicago-Kent College of Law.
PARALEGAL, SHORT SALE SPECIALIST
Samantha assists the attorneys of Miles & Gurney in all legal matters. Samantha is well-versed in the process of purchasing and selling property and is able to work with all parties to the transaction in doing whatever is necessary to complete matters as efficiently as possible, including the preparation of numerous different types of legal documents. Most importantly, Samantha has assisted hundreds of clients and is able to provide the necessary support to help guide clients through the legal process, making sure that all of the clients’ questions and concerns are addressed in timely fashion. She assists from the start of a contract all the way through closing, and beyond. Samantha graduated from Oakton Community College with an Associate’s Degree in Fine Arts.
Jacqueline (“Jackie”) assists our attorneys on a variety of needs impacting our day-to-day real estate transactions, including short sales, foreclosures, deeds, title policies and closings. As many short sales tend to go into foreclosure, she often focuses on the litigation aspect of those files, helping to handle discovery as well as drafting answers, motions and pleadings. Jackie also opens files and creates paperwork for our clients that relates to corporate creation. Prior to coming to our firm, Jackie worked as a paralegal at a personal injury law firm and insurance defense firm. She earned her undergraduate degree in Psychology at Lewis University and her law degree at The John Marshall Law School.
Imani is a terrific resource for ensuring our process moves forward as efficiently as possible and that no roadblocks lie ahead to delay a real estate transaction. In this role, she prepares closing documents and frequently meets with the firm’s clients to review those documents. She also follows up with title companies, drafts attorney review documents, corresponds with lenders to see all deadlines are met and corresponds with agents and attorneys on both sides of the transaction to see that both parties are in agreement at each critical phase. Imani earned her Associate degree in Applied Science And Paralegal Studies from Oakton Community College.
